A 30-year-old Tel Aviv guy named Yoni came a few days ago to stay in one of the sought-after huts in Nuweiba with his girlfriend. He had no idea that his holiday would quickly devolve into a terrible nightmare.
“It was peaceful when we arrived in Sinai for a week of vacation, but in the evening, we were bitten all over. Our senses were assaulted by swarms of mosquitoes. Scary as hell.
We would not have gone for a walk till they addressed the issue if they had not informed us that there was a mosquito attack on Sinai,” he explained. It is a nightmare. We purchased anti-bite and aloe vera ointments for sedation from local stores, but they were not very helpful.
Throughout the entire journey, the bugs persisted. It was delusional. These bites were powerful. Three days later, we fled in Dahab’s direction. The number of mosquitoes was much lower.
Many Israelis chose to cut short their holiday and head back home after getting stung in many places. After learning about the Egyptian mosquito sting, hundreds of other people chose to remain in Egypt and wait for the phenomena to be eliminated.
