Although white hairs are quite natural, their look is unappealing and makes us want to remove them right away. So, dear friends, we had better exercise self-control to avoid causing ourselves irreparable harm.
Everybody experiences graying at some point in their lives, and although white hair is quite natural, it is less socially acceptable, viewed as ugly, and causes us to feel the impulse to pluck them out right away.
Nowadays, the general consensus is that you will “win” by growing a lot more gray hairs if you pluck them. This is a misconception because, unlike infections, damage to one strand cannot spread to other areas. According to hair stylist Terry Gillen, “the surrounding hairs will not become white until the pigment cells of their follicles die.”
So why is the topic of gray hair plucking causing such a stir? For other reasons, that is. The explanation is as follows:
A single hair can develop from each follicle. The pigment cells in the follicle that surrounds the hair are already dead when it goes gray or white. According to Gillen, “in other words, plucking a gray hair will consequently just bring one new gray in its place,” meaning that plucking is essentially useless because it only delays the inevitable.
You are truly causing more harm than good in the long run.The hair follicle may sustain harm by plucking, possibly causing it to stop growing.
